Perri
It’s been sometime now that the sister act called Perri or the Perry Sisters (Carolyn, Sharon, Darlene and Lori) were in the studio creating and recording music for a project of their own.
For the past 2 decades they have been lending their unique signature harmony sound in live and studio performances to so many artist in the jazz, R&B, pop, rock, metal, gospel and country fields, (Aretha Franklin, Anita Baker, Bill Ward of Black Sabbath, Garth Brooks, George Michael, James Ingram, Lenny Kravitz, Quincy Jones, Sting, Whitney Houston and countless others), that they rarely had time to complete projects for themselves.
With the release of Perri’s first studio project in over 20 years the wait is finally over for their devoted fans, family and friends.
“Back To You” is the title of their new gospel influenced studio recording, which features 3 of the 4 sisters Carol, Sharon and Darlene. Lori wrote 2 songs and sang back up on most of the tracks, but due to other obligations was not able to complete the project with her siblings.
Produced by Robert “Sput” Searight (Snarky Puppy, Kirk Franklin) and Perri and Executive Produced by Rose A. McKinney, “Back To You” continues the legacy of awe-inspiring music and takes the sisters back to their gospel roots and their love of worship to the Lord.
Perri is supported by an impressive list of young talented Grammy Award winning jazz, hip hop, and gospel music innovators like Searight, as well as other members of Snarky Puppy, Terrace Martin (Kendrick Lamar, Herbie Hancock, Snoop Dog) and Byron “Mr.Talkbox” Chambers (TobyMac).
From beginning to end this recording promises to take you back to a time in musical history when “good music” was just that, “good music”.
